If you’re agency uses Momentum AMP, you may have received an email regarding upgrading to the new Momentum Public API. This is a big change.
Here’s the good news. If you’re a GravityCerts client you don’t need to do anything.
Momentum developed their new API designed to deliver improved performance, reliability, and uptime. Upgrading provides many improvements to their old API, and their expected cutoff is end of September 2026.
While Momentum has been sending out notices to clients already, GravityCerts, as a preferred partner of Momentum, has already fully upgraded our integration to benefit from the new API. And we’re excited to offer our newest and latest improvement for even better integration for our agency clients.
This gave us the opportunity to make many new improvements, and fix a handful of quirks due to some API limitations.
Momentum API Upgrade in a nutshell
If you’re here, this is what our upgrade does:
- Fixed form submissions rejected over one small answer. This is one of the most exciting updates. We found and fixed several situations where an entire form submission would get rejected because a single field mismatched what Momentum’s API required, even though everything else will filled out correctly.
- Improved authentication process, token authentication, token storage, and refresh tokens. It seems technical, but this is how any API authenticates securely to perform API requests. Improving this process speeds up every API call, making requests faster and more secure.
- Example: A driver selects “Prefer not to answer” or “Other” for their education would cause Momentum to reject the entire driver, not just skip the field. Now checks are in place to this doesn’t happen.
- Example: A person chooses “None” or “Unsure” for a vehicle deductible. The API would reject the entire vehicle. We fixed this too.
- Fixed attached documents weren’t uploading. Momentum’s old two-step process for file uploads broke. We caught it, found Momentum’s new and simpler upload method and reconnected everything. Documents upload correctly and reliably again.
- Faster and more efficient behind the scenes. Tags now apply in a batch instead of one-by-one.
- Your Client Center portal got a lot faster! If your site uses GravityCerts Client Center, we’ve made significant improvements to load times, number of API calls, and upgraded the entire experience so your clients can access their policy coverages, and documents reliably anytime.
Rebuilding proactively
Rather than wait for the official switch and scramble, we started early. We’ve been redeveloping every place GravityCerts integrates with Momentum. We’ve tested and tested again using Momentum’s new API to ensure reliability and security for all agencies using Momentum.
What this means for you:
When Momentum flips the switch this fall, nothing for you changes. Your forms keep working, you don’t need to re-authenticate, or re-login, or do anything. Just continue running your agency and using your website to the fullest.
We love hearing from clients about how they use their website to get more complete lead intake data on their website, and have all their information fill into Momentum for them.
And since we’re continually working with Momentum as a preferred partner, as new API endpoints become available or Momentum releases new features that our clients can benefit from; we work to implement those improvements as fast as possible. We want to see your agency grow.
More about the new version of our Client Center
The Client Center is a special integration between Momentum and GravityCerts, custom build as a resource for every agency’s clients themselves. Your clients can easily create a user account directly on your website, login, and visit their Client Center. It syncs with Momentum to display the client’s list of policies, coverages, documents, claims history, and primary contacts.
It allows clients to toggle between multiple accounts, if they have multiples in Momentum. Think, a client with both their personal account and business account with your agency. Or a client with multiple businesses could toggle between all their policies for each business, view coverages, and documents for each.
We’ve made considerable improvements with Momentum’s new API options to make load times faster, improve reliability, and provide more detailed policy coverages.
If you have a GravityCerts website and you’re using Momentum, we recommend you to take a look at the Client Center. Its a time saver for your staff, not having to answer phone calls all day asking for auto ID cards, or “what’s my coverage limit for X…”
The bottom line
Momentum’s new API is a real and necessary change, and GravityCerts is here to make sure that change is invisible to you and your clients. That’s exactly why we work hard to get ahead of the deadline, fix real problems found along the way, and make the whole integration more reliable than before.
If you notice something isn’t right, please reach out. We’re watching closely through the official cutover and continuously.
